Halloween is a celebration observed in several countries on the 31st October every year, the eve of the Western Christian feast of All Hallows' Day.
WHAT IS THE ORIGIN OF HALLOWEEN?
It originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts; it has pagan roots, and took place thousands of years ago.By today's date Ireland is considered the birthplace of the modern Halloween.
IS HALLOWEEN CELEBRATED AROUND THE WORLD?
Halloween is one of the world's oldest event, is still celebrated today in a number of countries around the globe; like in Mexico and other Latin American countries has a version of Halloween called: Día de los Muertos—the Day of the Dead—honors deceased loved ones and ancestors. It is a three days celebration, the soul's day take place on the 2sd of November.
In countries such as Ireland, Germany, New Zealand, Canada and the United States, traditions include costume parties, trick or treatning, pranks and games.
Children generally get dressed up in costumes and spend the evening “trick-or-treating” in their neighborhoods.
WHEN IS HALLOWEEN CELEBRATED?
Generally around the World, Halloween will be celebrated on the 31st of October, but in other countries as well in other time, like in England, it is called Guy Fawkes Day, which falls on November 5; it is commemorated with bonfires and fireworks.
